The most common question we get asked, aside from how the hell do we pronounce our name, is what's its meaning? Well, the short answer is that it's the name of the Celtic otherworld and translates to "Land of the Young." It's often described as a land of forests and rolling hills, a place with no pain or worries. For us personally, it means so much more. It represents the mountains and valleys where we grew up, and our hope to give back to that land through our work. It represents the amazing people of this state and this industry, whom we hope to lift up through our support. It represents the amazing healing power of the plant that our business is built on, and our drive to never stop learning all of its secrets. It represents the relaxation, joy, and relief provided by said plant and our drive to bring that to as many people as we can. We do this by avoiding greed and keeping our product accessible regardless of a person's income. It represents our family and our connection as brothers. Tir Na Nog is a place, a home for eternity, one with no worries or pain. Tir Na Nog ultimately represents a very personal goal for this company: to give back to the woman who gave so much to us as a single mother. Her work ethic, compassion, love, and kindness are the very bedrock of the values we built this company on. So someday we hope to not only give back to this land and to all the people of this state we love, but to buy our mom her forever home so she can finally put up her feet, get the rest she so deserves, and finally find her own Tir Na Nog.
So, how do you pronounce our name? Despite how difficult Irish can be for our American mouths , Tir Na Nog is very easy to pronounce.
(Tear-Na-Nog ) Where the first part is pronounced like tear as in what comes out of your eyes when you watch the classic sports movie Rudy. Na sounds just like it is spelled, and nog is pronounced like egg nog.
